Unitarian Universalist Church of Tucson

Apr 21: Community Life

We welcome diversity. We commit to undo racism and all other oppressions in ourselves, our church, and our community.

To drop into being means to recognize your interconnectedness with all life, and with being itself. Your very nature is being part of larger and larger spheres of wholeness.

Spring is in the air... And the UUCT Auction will be here before the swallows return from Capistrano!

Do you have a skill you'd like to share? A mouthwatering meal you'd like to offer to friends? That special dessert that is waiting to please the palate? What about a service - window washing or yard clean-up?

Or maybe you have an Amazon gift card or a store gift card, that you'll never use. Gee, who wouldn't appreciate a gas gift card with the sky-high gas prices.

You can mail them or drop them off at the church. (Please label them as '2022 Auction Gift', and please call the office ahead of time.)

The UUCT Fundraising Auction will be held online the week of June 5 – 12th, 2022. More details about how to bid/buy will follow.
We're all in this together so let's put the FUN in Fundraiser!

TEXnewMEX TUUR

Highlights of the TEXnewMEX TUUR October 8-16, 2022
DID YOU KNOW…
The Butterfield Overland Mail began operation in1858? Hueco Tanks, one of the stops on the TEXnewMEX TUUR, was also a relay station along the Butterfield Stage route.
Hueco Tanks has been a refuge for plants, animals and people for over 10,000 years!
DID YOU KNOW…
The rare Montezuma quail has been spotted at Davis Mountains State Park? This is another stop on our TUUR, one which offers superb birdwatching.
DID YOU KNOW…
The McDonald Observatory is a research facility of the University of Texas at Austin? We will go to a star party there. Now showing: The Universe!
DID YOU KNOW…
The movie “Giant” was filmed in Marfa, TX? Rock Hudson, Elizabeth Taylor and James Dean, all stars of the picture, stayed at the Hotel Paisano. We’ll have dinner there in Jett’s Grill.
DID YOU KNOW…
In the summer of 1947, something mysterious crashed near the town of Roswell, New Mexico? This will be our first evening’s stop. While there we will investigate the question—alien space craft or just a research balloon?
DID YOU KNOW…
Historic Mesilla, New Mexico, was the major stop for those traveling between San Antonio and San Diego 150 years ago? Mesilla hasn’t changed much over the years, allowing visitors to see what an 1800’s border town looked like. Western Legend Billy the Kid once stood trial for murder in a Mesilla courtroom, and the Mesilla Plaza, once a major stop for the Butterfield Stagecoach, will be our final stop on the TUUR.

This is a not to be missed TUUR with a small group of 24 travelers and only 9 places are left. Registration closes June 1. I will be at church this Sunday with more information and would love to talk to you about the trip. You may also contact Julia Mehrer at This email address is being protected from spambots.
