The Social Justice Council is once again holding sign vigils in front of the church on Tuesdays from 8:00 to 8:45. We have signs reflecting our values, or you can bring your own. If you haven't come before, come join us!

 

ANGEL HEART

HOLIDAY KIDS PAJAMA DRIVE

 

 

UUCT will be supporting the Angel Heart Pajamas Project with a Holiday kids’ new pajama drive. By the end of 2021, Angel Heart will have delivered 35,000 new pajamas – supporting eighty different agencies in Tucson who provide services for needy children. Angel Heart Pajama Project has been chosen as a UUCT Share the Plate recipient for 2022.

 

While all new pajamas are welcome, they have a need for older boys and girls’ pajamas- sizes medium and up. Many young teenagers are being removed from the home because of the increase in domestic violence in Tucson. Let’s all put one pair of pajamas on our Christmas list to support a Tucson child in crisis.

 

We have different drop-off options this year. Please put the PJs in a bag with your name.

Share the Plate December, 2021

 

Our Share the plate for the month of December is TiHan.

 

Mission: TIHAN provides community resources and caring support so that people with HIV can live well. Through education, we work to encourage everyone to get tested, get involved, and reduce the stigma of HIV.

Vision: Creating a community where everyone knows their HIV status, and where every person – regardless of status – is supported and affirmed to live as well as possible and stay healthy and engaged in the community.

 

 

 

TiHAN Annual Holiday Event, December 14

For several years TiHAN, Tucson Interfaith HIV/AIDS Network, has been supported by UUCT. This year the need is greater than ever. You can

help by providing these items: Toilet paper, toothpaste, and/or small gift items that will be used as raffle items. This year, as last, the event will be a "drive-by" pick-up of food and other items, rather than the dinner/dance of previous years. Please drop off items at UUCT by Friday, December 10. Special Service Project

 

This month we want to collect and donate lap-blanket sized blankets to send with the guests heading to cold weather. One options is to create a No-Sew Blanket! This week, Sonora joined in a Blanket Making Party! We hope that the blankets the humans make will be a little bigger than this.  

 

 

 

Parenting of Preschoolers (POPS)

Join on Zoom others with children ages birth to 6 years old to offer support as we come to understand our child's spiritual development, to build rituals that support this development, and to see ourselves as spiritual teachers. This is an amazing group of parents that come together once a month to talk about topics relevant to our daily lives. We offer support, words of wisdom, and connect to those around us. We hope that you join and share with us.
