We welcome diversity. We commit to undo racism and all other oppressions in ourselves, our church,
and our community.

HELP NEEDED WITH UUCT SIGN
Since last April we have posted 24 different messages on our street sign. They include both our UU Principles and issues of current socio-political interest. Currently, we are a team of 6, and about every 2 weeks 2-3 of us change the message. We need another volunteer who is willing and able to work on a ladder, and open and close our somewhat quirky sign. Please help us spread our message to the community. Contact Bob Gordon:

The 8th Principle
"We, the member congregations of the Unitarian Universalist Association, covenant to affirm and promote: journeying toward spiritual wholeness by working to build a diverse multicultural Beloved Community by our actions that accountably dismantle racism and other oppressions in ourselves and our institutions.”
"Beloved Community happens when people of diverse racial, ethnic, educational, class, gender, abilities, sexual orientation backgrounds/identities come together in an interdependent relationship of love, mutual respect, and care that seeks to realize justice within the community and in the broader world."

Come to the Congregational Meeting On November 14!
What does this have to do with Social Justice? Glad you asked!
The Holland Sanctuary was designed by a renowned architect in the early 70's, It is beautiful, and it is full of history. However, it is not ADA compliant. Making our sanctuary ADA compliant is a step for justice, equality, and making our place of worship more welcoming to all. That my friends, is radical hospitality!
The meeting will talk about how we can do this, but we need your participation to make it so. Mark your calendars and stay tuned for more details in tomorrow's email blast.

Share the Plate October, 2021
Our Share the plate for the month of October is Emerge Center Against Domestic Abuse
Answering the Call...
…to End Domestic Violence is about engaging our community in ending the entire spectrum of abuse that so many of our family, friends and colleagues experience every day. The question isn’t what should we do but, rather, are we willing to do something?
Last month our Share the Plate recipient was ICS, interfaith Community Services. We raised $353.00 for them. Thank you to everyone who contributed.

Renewal
Our theme in worship and RE this month is "Renewal." What are we renewing? Where in your life do you feel the need for renewal (like getting more sleep?) and where do you feel full up? What commitments are you willing to renew and which do you need to let go? Our resources this month ask us to think about Renewal in terms of our commitments to our communities, to our churches, to each other, and to ourselves. Let's explore!
Next Months Theme: Beloved Community
