Lughnasadh

Join SAZCUUPS on August 1st, 2021 from 6:15-8 PM for an online Lughnasadh ritual led by ADF Druid and Sonoran Sunrise Grove founder David Foster.

This ritual focuses on funerary celebration, the gathering of family, and harvest, as well as on the Celtic god Lugh and the Earth Mother Tailtiu. Please have any personal offerings to the Kindred ready, meaning Ancestors, Nature Spirits, and Deities. How to Give to the Church

You are asked to use our credit card service (which can be reached by the link or the On-line Giving button on our website), the very easy to use Text-to-Give (1-833-361-5796), or checks sent to the office. The on-line giving gives you the option to identify the contribution and use the memo line for checks. A tutorial video on Text-to-Give is here. After setting up an initial “profile” these options are easy to use for subsequent donations.

Share the Plate July

Our Share the plate for the month of July is Second Chance Tucson.

What is Second Chance Tucson?

Second Chance Tucson is a coalition of non-profit, faith-based, governmental, law enforcement agencies, and employers inspired by Tucson Mayor Jonathan Rothschild and US Magistrate Judge Charles Pyle. It began as an idea the Mayor and Judge had to hold a reentry forum in 2014 to celebrate the anniversary of the signing of the Second Chance Act - federal legislation that funds reentry programs - and has grown from there. Our focus is on reducing recidivism and increasing community awareness about reentry, with an emphasis on employment. We do this through a combination of community education, volunteerism and employment outreach.

Sales - and delivery - of Café Justo coffee are continuing. This Social Justice Council (SJC) project benefits small-scale, shade-grown organic coffee growers in Chiapas, Mexico.

Monthly Egg Runs will Continue Through Summer:

Sue will be at church the last Tuesday of every month collecting hard boiled eggs for Casa Maria, along with good used clothing etc., and will continue that commitment on the last Tuesday of the month.

Peanut Butter Party!

UUCT is IN on this competition to collect jars of peanut butter for ICS the month of JULY. We already have a big box full!! If you would like to donate, please contact the church office to drop off your jars, or bring it to church July 27th between 8 and 9 am where a volunteer will be waiting, as that is the next Egg Run. food.
